The two Umars guide Pakistan to unlikely victory

Pakistan cricketers Umar Akmal (right) and Saeed Ajmal celebrate the team’s victory during the Twenty20 Cricket World Cup’s Super Eight match against South Africa. Pakistan survived a middle-order collapse to beat South Africa by two wickets.

After restricting South Africa to a modest total of 133-6, Pakistan s top order struggled and was reduced to 7-76 in 14.3 overs by the Protease.
But Umar Akmal and Umar Gul put the team on the track and when it looked that South Africa is nearing victory, the duo, especially Gul smashed some brilliant shots to eventually claim maximum points for the team.
Gul scored 32 runs off 17 balls, laced with three sixes and two boundaries, and he had also taken a wicket earlier, to be declared  Man of the Match . Meanwhile, Akmal also played a key role in the match with his unbeaten 43 off 41 balls.

Hashim Amla

Hashim Mahomed Amla (born 31 March 1983 in Durban) is a South African cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler. In November 2004, Amla became the first South African team player of Indian descent. His grandparents, who emigrated to South Africa many years ago, hail from Surat, which is located in the Indian state of Gujarat. He is also a devout Muslim, which has led to campaigns to remove all alcohol-promoting logos from merchandise and playing gear. He objected to the advert for Castle Lager beer on the South African team kit and has been allowed to wear a shirt without the logo of a brand of South African Breweries, one of South African cricket's biggest sponsors. Amla captained South Africa at the 2002 under-19s Cricket World Cup. As a Test batsman he found the initial going difficult, and his technique was criticised after he made just 36 runs in the 2004 series against England. But he proved his critics wrong in 2006 as he scored a comeback 149 against New Zealand at Cape Town, helping guide South Africa to a draw. On 27 March 2008, he scored a record 159 not out against India.

Ganguly to become the next coach of Indian cricket team

NEW DELHI: Former captain Sourav Ganguly was India forward, driven to be the next coach of the national team, says cricket chiefs to be applied the next time a candidate believes.
Duncan Fletcher Zimbabwe, South African Gary Kirsten had success last year has been under pressure after. A series of tests heavy defeat against England and Australia

Poor performance in the month of T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka could be his position untenable.

Ganguly backed Fletcher to continue on the site, but said he would be willing to complete the task, if a vacancy occurs.

"If the BCCI (Indian Cricket Board) I am to be a good coach, I'm ready," said the news channel Aaj Tak in Hindi.

"I think I can make a difference in the ability of the actors, their form and development. This is a way to pay my game."

Ganguly has made a career as a television commentator since retiring from international competition in 2008 after a dispute with former coach Greg Chappell, the former Australian captain.

Ganguly said Indian cricket should not feel that they had to go outside to use the potential of the national team.

"Cricket in India is well aware of modern times. Remember who won the 2007 World T20 ... Chandu Borde and manages our victorious tour of England in 2007, is the ability of the best players that has now" I understand, said .

Ganguly said he was fully behind Fletcher, but added that former England manager "has good results."

"He has to win a young team under him and he will work hard for the team outside the sub-continent," the network said.

The left Ganguly is the most successful captain in the history of the Indian national team, tracking 21 wins in 49 tests.

He scored 113 runs in 7212 11,363 runs in Test and 311 one-day internationals in a career that has more than a decade.

Tennis Stars Andy Murray outlasts Djokovic in five sets to win first U.S. Open title

NEW YORK (AP): For Andy Murray and the UK, it was quite reasonable.

Forced a fifth set, despite winning the first two against defending champion Novak Djokovic in the U.S. Open final.
Tie a record 4 hours, 54 minutes burns leg, moving stories stomach itself highlights lasting 10, 20, 30 or 55 years - yes, 55! - Hub.
Floats and know everything that Murray was interrupted four Grand Slam match before, plus 76-286 drought years since the last major tournament title for a British
Overall, well worth the wait.
Promote your considerable history and chance, escape, Murray dug deep shrug perseverance and mental toughness back offer and survive Djokovic 7-6 (10) 7-5, 2 -6, 3-6, 6 -2 on Monday to win the championship to win at Flushing Meadows.
"The place is probably the best word to use to describe how I feel right now,'' said Murray." They are a little incredulous, as if I had been in this position many times and did not win, do not you think: Is it happen at all''
Yes, it has. Murray had already shown he could find great and won the gold medal on home soil at the Olympics in London last month. That was part of what has become a summer special for him, including an appearance - but, unfortunately, a defeat, of course - in the Wimbledon final. But here was different Olympics. It was a victory in a Grand Slam tournament, the standard for universal use, measure the size of tennis.
"Even after winning the Olympic Games,'' Murray said on Monday:" I asked again, "When are you going to win a Grand Slam'' '
Djokovic, who won four of the previous seven, said: "The Grand Slam tournament that deserved to win more than anyone, I'm sure, because over the years, was one of the leaders was so close ..''
Ah, yes, so close. The words are often used when it is not. For Murray for him.
His loss to Roger Federer at the All England Club in July, Murray left in tears, his voice breaking as he told the crowd Support Centre Court. "I'm getting closer'' He could not know how right he was, and Murray. Seems right point on Monday after entering his first full epic in 25 minutes to 22 points tiebreaker - the longest for a U.S. Open . the end - then run for 4-0 in the second.
But maybe it was not the right thing do not come easy for her, considering all that Murray and - since Fred Perry won Wimbledon and U.S. championships in 1936 - the British experience, the subject of much discussion and consternation in the UK, where it won the first title tennis star has become "at Wimbledon in 1877.
Murray was one of only two men in the professional era, which began in 1968, lost his first four Grand Slam finals - against Djokovic in the Australia Open in 2011 and three times against Federer.
The other boy, 0-4 start? Ivan Lendl, who is the current coach of Murray today. Aggression said Murray is one of the improvements are under the direction of Lendl, who has still for much of Saturday's meeting, glasses on top of the white baseball cap with arms crossed and resting on her red sweater - in short, betraying emotion than ever during his playing career.
"All I can do is stay in office and continue all that you give. If someone better than you, that's too bad, and go back and try again, '" said Lendl, who finished with eight major titles. "We feel, try to understand where they can improve, improve what we have to beat some players, and then go to work.''
As the finish approached, Djokovic - who had won eight consecutive five sets, including the semifinals (against Murray) and final (Rafael Nadal) in the Australia Open in January - was the one that seems fragile, gets squatting at the base to stretch his aching muscles. After the break behind 5-2 in the fifth leg, Djokovic massaged by a trainer.
"Well, every loss is a loss is bad.'' No doubt, Djokovic said." I'm disappointed to lose the game, but in the mind, I knew I gave everything. I really, really tried to break through.''
Nobody flew straight sets in the U.S. Open since 1949, and Murray was determined not this distinction.
"If he lost from two sets up,'' said Murray," that would have to bear.''
Djokovic knows how to get back. He won three times, after a two-set hole, more recently, in the fourth round of the French Open this year, especially in the U.S. Open semifinals against Federer last year.
"Novak is very, very hard. Fights to the end of each game,'' Murray said." I do not know how I managed to reach the final.''
Murray break ahead in the fifth quick 1-0 lead, his shot looked strong band sends Djokovic, who missed a backhand, and smiled a crooked smile of disbelief, shaking his head. Murray led the transition chomping on a white cloth.
It was a 2-0 lead for Murray soon after when a 131 mph service winner and then hammered a formidable defense to stretch a point Djokovic lost again. Murray yelled and pumped his arms, and the audience responded with a roar. Murray broke again to go ahead 3-0, but it was unclear.
It was still difficult issue, to realize what he never had: win the last point of a Grand Slam tournament.
And how then Murray could not be absolutely sure. For now
"You mean you will be able to do it, it will be very difficult to do,'' said Murray, who is now No. 3 in the ATP world rankings behind Federer and Djokovic." If you've been there many times and have not done, is easy to doubt.''
If Djokovic, who. ₩ 27 Grand Slam matches short drive just sent a long right turn at the end point, Murray ducked and covered her mouth with both hands, as if he could not believe that the time has actually passed The Scot has 25 years of his shoes and jumped at every turn, while he strengthened by the court. Djokovic came to congratulate and embrace while "Chariots of Fire'' sound from the speakers at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
"You try not to think too much when you're playing, but ... when I used to play this game, is something that I noticed - the importance of this moment for British tennis and British sport,'' Murray said." This is something that has not happened for a long time, of course, in our country.''
Murray and Djokovic was born a week apart in May of 1987 and have experienced, and., Considering the other, since they were about 11 before Saturday's semifinals in New York, shared a computer and sit together to see Murray and Djokovic in Scotland Serbia 0-0 line. In a qualifying match for the World Cup
Wind was launched on Monday, treated with gusts over 25 mph, and a better Murray. Murray had many notable supporters in the stands, including a couple from Scotland who crashed his press conference after his semifinal. Actor Sean Connery and Manchester United, Alex Ferguson's last British woman to win a Grand Slam singles title, 1977 Wimbledon champion Virginia Wade, was also present among the games to entertain with actor Stanley Tucci.
Loaded with air ball and make dipping or darts back and forth, almost every shot has become a bit of an adventure. Both players have to adjust mid-swing back, writhing contact us. Both services are bumps in the ground as the ball danced on strike. Because of the wind on the microphone umpire involved, we think of a strong and disturbing, thunder.
"They did a lot of walking. Unfortunately not be able to find really great shots at the right time. Forced me to go to the winner or error,'' said Djokovic." Unfortunately I made a lot of mistakes.''
He was 65 unforced errors from Murray to 56, combined for 49 unforced errors than winners. That is, it should probably be a statistical counting errors forced wind.
Almost like a mirror exchanged breaks in the first two games, which makes sense, because the way both are very good serve return. Two of the best in the game right now, can not be. Djokovic crouched back almost parallel to the ground before the opponent serves. Murray shuffles his weight from one leg to the front and jump at the last second to cut corners.
Both worked hard, physical harm. Djokovic was the right knee after scratching for a few somersaults on the court a little when he lost his grip bleeding, and changed his shoes at the end of the third set. Murray shook his left thigh, while deciding not pursue a balloon.
He had 10 points. Least 10 shots each in the tie-break in the first set Djokovic saved each of the first five set points Murray, the last with an ace 123 thousand hours at 10-all. But Djokovic backhand flew long at the end of a shoot 21, No. 6 by the command, and this time Murray turned and came to serve 117 miles at night, that Djokovic could not put in the yard.
Murray returned to his guest box and shouted: "Come''
Final Djokovic 6-5 in the second set kick, stammered. In a career-high 31 points Djokovic missed a forehand to make it 15-30. Murray and defensive skills came into play when he received a statement overhead Djokovic defeated and forced a second, which sailed wide. Raised his chest heaving, Sat Djokovic put his hands on his hips, struggling to understand what was happening. Two points later, Djokovic put a forehand inside-out wide, which set the Murray. Lendl also rose.
After stretching a backhand volley winner at 1-1 in the third cellar, Djokovic gave a guttural scream and pumped his fists. Through the network, Murray frowned. In the next game, Murray performed a monologue of self-warning, Djokovic raised his better late than never charged. She broke for a 2-1 lead, used a 126 mph with a great return. Fast enough, goes to a fourth set.
"At some point it was narrated that want more or want it bad,'' Lendl said." I do not think Novak is not desired. How much what is the price you pay and how you can work under extreme pressure to perform?''
Make an important tactical move, Djokovic pushed us in almost all occasions, shortening points and had just stolen whenever he could. Finally won the point on 39 of 56 trips to the net, Murray was 16 of 24
A critical moment came with Djokovic face a break point, Murray could take farewell, also in the fourth set. After Murray missed a forehand to the devil umpire Jake Garner warned President Djokovic too long between points. I wanted to start a discussion followed and after winning the next point with a service winner, Djokovic sent a "Take That!'' Finding Garner. In the stands, standing on Djokovic's father and saw Garner. 3-1 to Djokovic and finally forced the fifth set.
Murray was time to enter the clutch, and he did.
Federer, Nadal and Djokovic - lost the U.S. Open with a left knee injury - has won 29 of the last 30 majors (except Juan Martin del Potro in New York in 2009).
Murray enters the club of the Grand Slam.
For years, Murray was about the pressure she was four-time Wimbledon semifinalist Tim Henman before him to give Britain a champion in a sport he loves asked.
"Of course, I'm proud of what we've been trying to get to me,'' said Murray, his shiny silver trophy sitting around." And do not let stupid question to ask again.''

MS Dhoni admits India's weak in bowling: ICC World T20 2012

Fully aware that bowling is one of his team's weak points, Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Tuesday indicated that he could opt for five specialist bowlers in future if the part-timers don't perform as per expectations.

Indian bowlers were clobbered by Kamran Akmal and Shoaib Malik in their final warm-up game on Monday, resulting in a five-wicket loss.

Even as the likes of Lakshmipathy Balaji, Irfan Pathan, Zaheer Khan were taken to the cleaners, Dhoni gave indications that he would stick with the three pacer and one spinner formula for the time being.

We need to have more variations and we will be trying different strategies and field placements to back our bowlers.

Questioned on the fixed formula of playing seven specialist batsmen and four bowlers that has been the trend for a long while now, Dhoni said the practice has been prevalent in Indian cricket "for past 50-55 years

Indian Fast Batsman Yuvraj Singh gets into groove facing 'throwdowns'

Colombo: In a throwback to the Gary Kirsten days when the then India coach would always help Sachin Tendulkar with 'throwdowns', the Nondescripts Cricket Club (NCC) ground on Tuesday witnessed Yuvraj Singh going through the same routine with fielding coach Trevor Penney.
It was an optional session but the likes of skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Gautam Gambhir, Suresh Raina and Lakshmipathy Balaji slogged it out with the reserve players ahead of India's first World Twenty20 match against, Afghanistan, on Wednesday.

While all of them were practicing at the main nets, Yuvraj quietly strode out to the farthest corner with Penney in tow.

From 18 yards, Penney started hurling the deliveries as a confident Yuvraj negotiated each and every ball with intent. Whenever something was pitched short, he went for the horizontal bat shots.

The volume of deliveries faced may not be as many as compared to Tendulkar but in 75 minutes, he faced at least 200 'throwdowns' from Penney and even Dhoni applauded the effort put in by the stylish left-hander, who successfully recovered from a rare germ cell cancer.

"He is shaping up really well. It's all about putting up a fight. I believe one shouldn't think about the past and there are lot of uncertainty about the future. But it's about putting up a fight on the day," said Dhoni.

The captain felt his most dangerous T20 player is getting better with each passing day.

"Yuvraj has looked fit for this format. Obviously, he is still not hundred per cent as far as Tests are concerned but he is getting better."
